Ingredients, sources & assumptions
All listed edible food and oil are counted as eaten. Cooking losses and final cooked weight are not measured. Some ingredients use a stated reference food or a proxy for a missing nutrient. No personalized dietary advice.
Beans, cannellini, canned, sodium added, drained and rinsed · 120 g in the original batch
Cannellini beans are the reference for unspecified white beans; other varieties and brands differ. Missing sugar and cholesterol use generic undrained canned white beans as a proxy. Missing saturated fat uses that proxy’s saturated-to-total-fat ratio applied to the drained/rinsed cannellini total fat. The primary source supplies other nutrients.

Nutrition guidanceLet’s make it
Amounts below match your selected batch. Follow each short step, and use timers as reminders to check the food.
Equipment
Bowl · Fork · Toaster · Knife · Kitchen scale · Can opener (if needed) · Colander or sieve
- 1
Prepare the topping
Wash the avocado before cutting. Weigh 80 g edible avocado flesh and 120 g drained, rinsed white beans. Mash together thoroughly with a fork until soft, with no whole beans remaining.
- 2
Warm the bread
Lightly toast 200 g whole-grain bread. Use the weight shown rather than a fixed slice count, since loaves vary. Keep it easy to chew rather than crisp or hard.
- 3
Spread and serve
Spread the mashed topping thinly over the toast. Cut into shapes appropriate to your child’s development and serve promptly. For later, refrigerate the topping separately and assemble just before eating.

Make it work for you
For kids & different preferences
Mash beans fully and avoid hard crusts or large sticky mouthfuls. Bread contains wheat and may contain milk, soy or sesame; choose an egg-free loaf without whole seeds, nuts or whole kernels and check the label. Choose soft textures and shapes for your child’s development. Young children should sit upright and be supervised while eating and should never eat in a moving car or stroller. This is a family snack, not infant-feeding guidance.
Storage & packed lunches
Refrigerate promptly in shallow covered containers at 40°F / 4°C or colder. Refrigerate within 2 hours, or within 1 hour above 90°F / 32°C. For trips, pack in an insulated bag with ice packs and keep cold until eaten. Refrigerate topping and use within 24 hours; keep bread separate.
Freezing & reheating
Not recommended; avocado and toast change texture.
Serve topping cold on freshly warmed toast.
If something looks different
A very firm avocado will not mash smoothly. Choose a ripe avocado; do not leave topping at room temperature to soften.
