A kitchen built on trust
Recipes, nutrition & care
What nourishing means here
We look for useful meals with variety: vegetables or fruit, protein foods, and grains or other staples as appropriate to the meal. Frozen vegetables, canned beans, familiar cultural foods, and convenient ingredients all have a place. We do not use a universal health score or promise disease treatment.
What has been reviewed
This collection contains original AI-assisted recipes. Structural checks cover numeric quantity bounds, linked ingredient references, and consistency with ingredient-declared allergens. They do not establish cooking results or prove that divided quantities and timing are correct. AI editorial review checks instruction consistency and plausibility. No recipe is labeled human-reviewed or kitchen-tested without a record identifying the person, version, date, and findings. These recipes have not been kitchen-tested.
Nutrition estimates
All current catalog recipes have ingredient-based nutrition estimates per portion and for the whole batch. Calculation version 2 uses USDA FoodData Central references, explicit preparation assumptions and disclosed substitute reference foods. Original quantities and saved recipe versions remain unchanged. Added sugars assume plain unsweetened ingredients or show a zero-to-total-sugar range for prepared foods. Tofu and soy sauce measurements also show reference ranges; brands can fall outside them. The Nutrition tab lists sources and assumptions, and print uses the same calculation. Unknown future ingredients withhold affected totals and must be researched before publication. These estimates are not laboratory-tested nutrition facts.
Assumptions and limits
Optional ingredients are excluded. Estimates assume listed edible ingredients and oil are consumed. Cooking losses, brand variation, and changes you make may alter the result. Water minerals vary; exact cooked portion weights are not measured. These are estimates, not laboratory measurements or individualized medical advice.
Allergens and dietary tags
Tags describe the ingredients listed, not a guarantee about your products or kitchen. Check compound ingredients and product labels. Cross-contact cannot be ruled out. A substitution may change nutrition, allergens, texture, and cooking time. We do not assign clinical-diet suitability.
Our publication gate
The source-based daily program researches original ideas and checks ingredient links, amounts, declared allergens, safety instructions and estimate coverage for all seven stores. Two independent Claude AI reviews must approve the exact recipe version before publication. Uncertain candidates are held; missed days are not backfilled. The first four snack additions are a separate starter collection. The daily program attempts at most one addition per local day for 365 days, with a hard 365-addition cap. The older human-approval publisher remains disabled. Automated checks cannot prove cooking outcomes, dietary suitability or local checkout prices. The maintenance schedule requires its host and Codex to be available. Human review and physical kitchen testing remain separately labeled, and have not been performed. Community submissions have a separate private revision queue, structural and plausibility checks, and exact-content Codex and Claude review evidence. They do not consume the daily original-recipe counter. Missing reviews, uncertain ingredient identities or conflicting findings prevent approval. Uploading never publishes immediately. Approximate produce counts are display guidance only: the precise recipe quantity remains authoritative. Contact justin@crossandcanopy.com for corrections.
